Through The Years
I've been very fortunate to work with (more importantly...learn from) some fantastic musicians over the years. I spent 30 years of my life in a very small, rural, conservative town in Central PA called Reedsville that was about 20 miles south of State College, PA (home of Penn State University). Goes to show that no matter where you are, you can find the right people...until the next opportune gig presents itself.
The most important influences on my musical endeavors was my high school and college band directors. Read that again. SCHOOL BAND DIRECTORS!!! This was before the powers that be decided to cut so much from these programs all over the country...which is a HUGE mistake for our culture. Don't get me started!
High school was Barry Enzman. If I were asked to name the single most influential person to getting into music, this gentleman is it. And I can tell you there are hundreds (probably more like thousands) of students that went through his program that would say the exact same thing.
